What can you expect?
Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Nutritionist Credentials
It takes years of study to achieve and maintain Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status. All APD’s are university qualified and are required to complete ongoing professional development! We must abide by a strict code of conduct and ethics to maintain these credentials - this means you can be assured that the information I provide is credible and is backed by science.
Weight Neutral
Along with university study, I am also a qualified personal trainer. I know first-hand the limited information personal trainers receive with regards to nutrition. If you’ve ever been told by someone in the fitness industry that weight loss is the solution to all of your concerns, just know this isn’t true. I will assist you to engage in health behaviours regardless of your body weight, shape or size. We are going to shift the focus to wellbeing rather than weight change. I can’t wait to work with you to build and develop your skills to focus on internal eating cues and building body trust, and move away from fear-driven, restrictive and rules-based eating.
Health Focussed
I am a big believer in setting goals, and working towards them. These goals will be sustainable and realistic. We will always be addressing them, reviewing them and achieving them.
Skill and Confidence Building
Together, we will delve into what you need from a dietitian. What are your specific barriers to eating a nutritious diet? Cooking? Shopping? Meal planning? Low energy? Whatever it may be, I will be with you every step of the way.
Tailor Made for You
Your nutrition goals will not be the same as the next person. Working with me one-on-one means that what we talk about, and the goals we set (as well as the techniques to meet these goals) will be simple and individualised for you. This means we can keep in mind your food preferences, budget, lifestyle, health needs and skill level.
